REQUIREMENTS

Congratulations in joining Summit!

We love to over deliver on our promises so we are sure you’ll love working with us.

Now that you are part of this ever growing network, let’s start to make your website a reality.

This is your time to shine!

The way the process works, is that we spend around 3 hours setting your website up; before we actually meet you face to face for your full day of building, supported by one-on-one coaching & site development from start to finish.

SETTING UP YOUR WEBSITE
(Time needed 3 to 8 hours)

This could be compared to getting a house to the lock up stage. All the foundation, walls, roof and infrastructure is in place but all the decorating, layout, polishing of floor boards still needs to be done.

We know your time is extremely valuable and scarce and want to maximise it by setting everything up for you so that later the only things left organising during our one on one time; is polishing the design, layout, customer conversion strategies and functionality of the site, rather than focusing on boring technicalities.

I will explain each step in detail below, and what we’ll need from you.

As an overview, in this 3 to 8 hours we will be setting up your website, which will consist of us…

1) Registering a domain name (if you have not done this already)

2) DNS server addresses

3) Setting up the web interface, we use WordPress (this is what sites like People.com and CNN.com use) as this makes it easy for the end user (like yourself) to edit, add, change your website once it has been created, if you choose to do this.

4) Organising the design element and customise the theme for your website

5) Adapt the colour scheme to match your branding

6) Add your business logo (if any…..note we can help you build one)

7) Create a temporary website map and layout based on categories and subcategories, which can be changed late but at least saves us time at the front end start up phase.

8) Create categories and sub-categories temporary design templates

9) Set up a temporary web layout for the home page.

10) Set up emails accounts like john@yourdomainname.com and enquiries@ etc…

11) Set up temporary auto responder message, signature file

12) Organise the social media profiles and URLs for the website

13) Input the text for each web page (if any)

14) Re-search temporary images that convey the branding, goals and message you are trying to convey for each page.

Ok, let’s have a look at the “mission critical” items we need from you:

DETAILED OVERVIEW

Ok, let’s have a look at the only things we need from you:

STEP 1)

The first step is registering your domain name. If you have already done this just skip this part.

If not then give us a call and we can chat about how to create a powerful domain name and can guide you on how to register it. If you want us to do this for you, we just need to know from you what name you want to use for the owner of the site and what email you want to use.

STEP 2)

The second think will need from you is change the DNS redirection.

Depending on how Internet savvy you are, you can either:

1) Change the DNSs yourself by going to your domain registrar and put under DNS1 1387.hostgator.com and DNS2 1388.hostgator.com

Or

2) If you want us to do it. You can give us access to your domain registrar (login and password) so that we can set up the DNSs for you. We need this access just for 10 minutes. After that if you wish you can simply change the password again if you wish to do so.

WHAT IS DNS?

The DNS (domain name system) is a feature that allows the Internet to know where a website is hosted. This needs to be changed so that when people type your website address (URL) it can redirect where it is hosted.

If we compare it to our everyday life is like saying that Jack Johnson lives at 11 Success Road, Elwood and works in the city at 100 Collin st, Melbourne. In this case Jack Johnson is your domain name and 11 Success road is the DNS1 address and 100 Collin st, Melbourne is the DNS2.

STEP 3,4)

Summit Business IQ will do.

STEP 5)

At this stage we will need for you to advise us own your desired colour scheme if any.

STEP 6)

If you already have a logo for your business you want to use, this would be the perfect time.

STEP 7,8)

Having a list of the pages and the tree structure (categories and sub-categories) you want to have on your site will simply the work. If you don’t know, don’t worry that’s part of what our one on one, full day consultation will resolve!

STEP 9)

We do this.

STEP 10)

What emails would you like to have? Let us know so that we can set it up for you.

STEP 11)

When web visitors send you an email using one of the form on your web site what message would you like them to see.

What message would you like to receive in the subject line to tell you that someone is contacting you via the website? Let us know here!

STEP 12)

If you want your site to be Social Media friendly, you’ll need to let us know what your URLs are for your social media accounts, for example:

* LinkedIn

* Facebook

* Twitter

* Googleplus

* Youtube

* Pinterest

* Instagram

Etc…

STEP 13)

If you have any text and image for your web site, this is the perfect time as we can start adding text

STEP 14)

If you want to use your own impactful rich images this is the perfect step to give it us. Otherwise we can find some that we believe could work. These can always be changed later.

STEP 15)

Your main keywords like: “electrician”

STEP16)

What sentences you would like to rank in your location, example “Electrician in Toorak, Cheap electricity quotes in Toorak etc”

IN SUMMARY:

So in summary we trust you will find the above checklist useful in guiding you through some the processes we have perfected over the years.

Doing this pre work and submitting it to us before our one on one meeting can speed up the entire process and enable us to invest more time on the more creative aspects of your website construction.

If you need extra days of one on one time, as you are valued customer we have a flat fee of $987 (plus travel and accommodation if applicable) for each extra day.
